Export DAZ Studio 4's next-gen figures to Poser with this (temporarily) free new plugin.
Said in: said in: I believe I read that some of that DSON Issue is caused by the latest version of DSON. If you have the Previous version of DSON, try hat one. Yes, the latest version causes issues with Genesis 2 as well. The last beta version may be in your DAZ Product Library; that's the one I use.
Filter on 'Beta' to see if it's there. I to saw the same advice while searching the issue on google a while back and did try to find an earlier version of Dson but did not find one. So thanks for the advice to check 'your DAZ Product Library' Just as a matter of interest i did email Daz Tech support about the lack of Dson support for Daz G3 figures. They simply said in reply 'We are working on it' So maybe there next version of Dson will resolve the G3 issue. Checked out my Daz account for 'DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.49' but not there. There is only the latest version listed which i aquired in May this year.
Also looked at my downloads page and found this version [Zip file] DSON_Importer_for_Poser_1.1.2.117_Win64. I don,t think reinstalling this earlier version would be a good idea as things may not work to well with Daz 4.9. Looks as if were at an impass here with no resolution. There is only one other option ive not tried yet. Refer to '@wandw ' reply a few posts back. This is a script that loads Daz duf files into poser.
Ill try it out and see what happens. Said in: There is no beta version listed? It is a separate product; try filtering on 'Beta'. If it's not there, you might ask Sales Support if they can put it into your account. The Importer operates completely independently of DS, which doesn't even need to be installed. D3D's DSON Loader I linked to is a script that calls the Importer.
Thanks for comments. Have just sent Daz/tech an email to see if the 'DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.3.49' is still available. Just have to wait and see what the response is. Said in: said in: Since you are looking at free DSON items, give D3D's DSON Loader script a try. It will load DSON assets that don't have Poser Companion Files. It will even work on complete scenes. It does require DAZ' DSON Importer to be installed.
I've found that most items load fine, although the normals are occasionally reversed, but checking Normals Forward in Render Settings will correct it in renders. Download here: Thanks for link to DSON loader script and the added advice.
Will certainly look into this and give it a try. I already have DAZ' DSON Importer installed. Have tried the software you provided a link to------ I found that clothing items and hair items did load into Poser ok although the 2 hair items i tried were only visable when you render them. I also imported Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 figures and all morphs worked and textures showed. So far so good.
But when i loaded Genesis 3 it showed with no fault on the front of the neck and thought thats great! The shaping morphs worked ok But when i tried to rotate the figures arms/legs etc using the Pose controls very little happens. No matter which pose control i select the only response i get is the shoulder moves slightly. Tried selecting a pose file and all that happened is the figures mesh became very distorted/jagged. Im dissapointed that the G3 figure still has its problems but otherwise im glad i have this script installed and will try it on other items ive yet to unzip and install into Daz.

Im waiting on a reply from Daz and hopefully they will tell me this earlier version of Dson is still available.
